Tip #1 - Use discussion boards to find answers to your questions

Discussion boards are the best place to find answers to any questions about website design you have. I have used discussion boards for many of my learning. It is a great way to learn how to spice up your website.

Tip #2 - Find things you like on other websites and view the source

If you are surfing around the net and you find something that you really like on a website you can go to view and then to view source to see what the code is for whatever it is you like. This is how I taught myself to use tables, link lists, create forms, and many other handy website design tips.

Tip #3 - Start with a free website design service and then view the source

Using a free website design service to build a page with things you like is a great way to learn. You can then view the source just like you did above to see how the code works for those specific things.

Tip #4 - Use notepad to play around with different codes

Notepad is great because you can save your files as .htm and view them in your browser window. Use this to play around with different codes and you can see what your changes do to your page. This is a great way to learn different codes and different website secrets.

I know this is not a lot to get you started, but this is where I started. It is a great asset to know how to type out some html code or read java script.

SEO - Increase Web Site Visitors

SEO is search engine optimization and it is one of the most powerful tools you can use on the internet in order to increase web site visitors. The best part is that I am going to show you a way to use SEO without knowing anything about it.

For this example I am going to use a site that sells golf clubs. So if you own a site that sells golf clubs you will want to optimize for keywords that have to do with golf and golf clubs. How do you do that? Simple just follow my steps below:

Step #1 - You need to find a few free articles about your subject

In your example you would want to go to free content sites and find articles about golf and golf clubs. If the author is smart in any way at all they have already optimized that actual article to be ranked very high by the major search engines for a specific keyword. Usually this keyword can bring you 20-1,000 visitors a month.

Step #2 - Build a basic webpage including the article

You need to build a basic webpage around the article that you have chosen. This article cannot be changed in any way, shape, or form and you need to leave the author bio box intact. If you change the article or you don't leave that author bio box with it you are infringing on copyright laws.

This webpage should also include your website links down the right hand side and you can add an image or two if you want. The whole point is that the article is there on the site unchanged. This is the key to getting traffic to your website.

Step #3 - Publish the webpage

The only thing you have to do now is publish the webpage and wait. Of course, you can create even more pages and bring more traffic to your site. It takes anywhere from 2-14 days for the search engines to spider your site and rank it. Since the article is optimized you will get a ranking on the first page for the specific keyword and you will see a great increase in your traffic.

Look at it this way, if you build 20 web pages a week that are all feeding you 100 visitors a month, then you will have a new 2,000 visitor a month every week. Imagine where you would be 3 months from now if you did 20 web pages every week.
