What are Blogs and Why are They Important
Blog is an abbreviation of "Weblog" and it is basically an online diary. It usually comes in the form of a website which lets users add postings as often as they wish and the blogs can include photos, links, text etc. You can create your own Blog system but most people use sites such as blogger.com (this one is owned by Google) for creating their blogs. You choose your own blog address and you con... Read internet business article
Google Quality Score Changes - Facts Revealed
Google has updated their Quality Score (QS) algorithm again and a lot of advertisers have found that their minimum bids have gone through the roof. There some angry webmasters as a result of these changes. Believe it or not this is a good thing. Here's why. Less competition. The result of these changes will "thin out the herd" in a manner of speaking. Some of your competitors will survive the changes, some won't. Your competitors that get affected by the QS changes will have to learn to deal with these changes. Some will take some time to learn and others will give up.
You can take advantage of the changes by getting to work on your campaigns to get more traffic. I have had an increase of visitors since the changes because I make sure my pages and ads are relevant to the keywords I'm bidding on.
It works like this for me less competition - lower bids - more traffic = more sales and a higher ROI
It can work like this for you as well. First, you want to make sure the keywords you are using are laser targeted to your product/service. If you are selling inkjet cartridges don't use general keywords like "inkjet cartridges".
Use specific keywords like "canon inkjet cartridges online" or "cheap lexmark inkjet cartridges". Use product specific keywords like "hp 51645a" or "hp deskjet 722c cartridges". You will find that keyword terms like this may not bring you as much traffic but will convert a lot higher than general keyword terms.
Make sure that your ad has the keyword you are bidding on in it e.g.
Save Big on HP Cartridges
Cheap HP 51645a Cartridges.
Free shipping on orders over $50.

Make sure that your landing page's content is relevant to the keyword you are bidding on. In the above case you obviously want to have that product on your landing page and your text should have the keyword in it.
Remember you can use Google's Quality Score changes to your advantage by having relevant keywords, a relevant ad and a relevant landing page. While your competitors either give up or take time to figure out how to fix their campaigns, you should be working on tweaking your campaign and landing pages.
Search Engine Optimization versus Social Media Optimization
Whether you call it website promotion or search engine optimization or even internet marketing, it's still important to 'court the what, don't marry the how'.
What do I mean by that?
Basically, that expression means to be concerned about *what* you are trying to achieve -- more visitors to your website, say -- rather than *how* you want to achieve it -- a high ranking on Google.
For example, here are three websites that *can* help you promote your website and thus help you promote your business, online:
1) YouTube
2) Digg.com
3) Del.icio.us
The above sites are known as social networking sites or social bookmarking sites or even social media sites. Whatever they are known as, the most important thing about these types of sites (and these three sites in particular) is that they are some of the most visited websites in the world.
Notice I haven't mentioned Google, until now that is:
4) Google Video.
I could also include:
MySpace, Technorati, Bloglines etc.
With the arrival of these social media sites, the website promotion game has changed.
Yes, website promotion -- getting visitors to your website -- is now much more than about ranking well on search engines like Google, Yahoo! and MSN these days. It's taking advantage of so-called social networking or bookmarking sites, and the high levels of visitors these sites receive.
Or, to use a fancy term: it's about social media optimization.
What are the rules of this new game?
How does social media optimization work?
Well, with any new technology (and these sites are also known as examples of Web 2.0 sites) the rules are still being made up, and no one has all the answers.
Some think that Web 2.0 websites or social media sites will not be around for long. Others think that social media optimization will become as important as search engine Optimization. The important thing, right now, is to understand how you can best utilise these high traffic websites in promoting your website.
So, the time to embrace social networking sites is now.
Don't ignore search engine optimization, but do find out how your business or website can use social media Optimization, before it's too late.
