How to Get a Flood of Site Traffic
I have several sites and each gets an enormous amount of daily visitors. And I'm often asked how I do it. At first glance some assume it from Pay Per Click sources such as Google AdWords. And while it is true that I do get some traffic through this method, it is not the focus of this article. In this article I'm going to reveal one of the secrets I use every day to ensure my daily flood of site traffic will always flow in great abundance.

I actually have put together a "To Do" list with each day of the week and the specific things I want to accomplish listed under each day. The items listed are things that I know if I will consistently do each day, I will also benefit consistently from. I also have the 2nd half of the "To Do" list page intentionally blank so that I may pencil in additional items that I want to do during the week.

This system works very well because it allows me somewhere to start and focus. And focus is one of the key elements of making this system work for you. For many getting organized and starting any project sometimes takes the longest. And as a result nothing ever really gets done. Focus is so important because in life you will always get exactly what you focus on. And it can be good or bad, positive or negative.

The next important elements is taking action. It's one thing to focus on what you want or want to accomplish etc. If you don't take action it doesn't happen. So by using this system of a daily "To Do" list, I am able to outline the small things I must first focus on and then take action to implement in order to cross them off my daily list.

One of the items which sends lots of highly targeted website traffic to my various sites is posting messages in forums. Each day I devote one hour to posting and or replying to messages in forums. I actually set a timer that counts the minutes and gives an alarm to let me know I have successfully reached my goal of posting or replying for one hour. This allows me to focus better because I am not allowing myself to get distracted by constantly looking at a clock to see how much time I have left.

The reason posting in forums is so important if you want to generate tremendous free site traffic is because in every post you author or reply to, your signature appears as well. Your signature can have links pointing to your website and normally a few lines of text as well. It's an easy way to spread the word about your sites. And since the major search engines also index forum pages, you have an even greater motivation to do this every day.

I believe in getting the maximum return for my time. And that is why I post most often in Russell Brunson's Conquer Your Niche forum. Russell has put together a nice forum where you earn credits to have your ads displayed to other members. You earn credits for reading other posts and for posting messages yourself. And as mentioned each time you post or reply your signature appears giving you more free exposure through other forum readers and the search engines.

Building Website Traffic - Submitting Articles to Directories

A famous quote from the movie "Field of Dreams" says, "If you build it, they will come." While that may be true for baseball fields (like in the movie), it doesn't seem to hold true for websites. It doesn't matter how great your content is, or how impressive your graphics, the cold hard fact is you're just another of the several billion websites populating the World Wide Web and you're not likely to be anything else until you do a little self promotion.

But unless you have an advertising budget equal to the treasury of a small country, promotion on the web can be sticky business. Adsense ads might be effective, and a banner on a popular website can bring visitors galore, but these are expensive options; for most web publishers, these are not options at all.

Fear not, a new trend in web promotion has emerged with the potential to carry you from obscurity to the top of Google's search page rankings. It's called article submission, and it gives not only the chance to spread your expertise, but you can spread a link to your website as well. The propagation of both these things will bring visitors to your site, and on top of that the increase in links (called backlinks) will improve your search engine standing.

Simply put, you write articles (or have them written for you) on topics related to your website. You submit the articles to websites called article directories, and include a link back to your website at the end of the article. Since these article directories usually have their own traffic, visitors read your article and could follow the link back to your own website. A new patron of your website is born.

Others visit article directories looking for new content to publish on their websites. These web publishers are allowed to use the directory's articles as long as they keep the author's link intact. Now your article has a viral marketing effect; it reaches a whole new audience who might be interested in what your own website has to offer, and they might visit your link.

Even if your article never makes it to another website, you still have your link within the directory. Since article directories generally get high amounts of traffic and contain many links, they can place high in Google page rankings. This increases the value of the link to your site. Not only will you get higher exposure, but the directory's own ranking helps your site do better in the search engines.

It doesn't matter if you've written the article yourself or hire someone to write it for you. As long as the piece is original material, and you own the copyright, most directories will accept your submission. You might also be able to purchase a bundle of private label rights (PLR) articles and rewrite them for submission. The important thing is your content must be original; duplication will hurt your page ranking at Google, and if the content is too common Google could penalize your site and drop your page rankings even further.
